Trav's concert at the Angel's Stadium

On July 3rd, Travis was able to open up for the Phil Wickam tailgate concert put on by the FISH radio station at the Angel's Stadium.  It was such a great opportunity for Travis and we had so much fun with all the friends and family who came to support him.  After Trav, Hud and I were able to sit with my parents in the box seating with the FISH radio crew and Phil Wickam.  It turned out to be a great day.

I was on the FISH website and couldn't find the pictures from the concert, because they aren't up yet.  However, here is a link of a few of the pictures we took of the FISHFEST which they posted on their website.

Before we left for the game I put on Hudson's Angels hat we bought him last year.  However, he hates wearing it, so this is the best picture I could get of him :)

My sister, Summer and I before the concert:

They had snakes and reptiles on display...

Hudson sat on Bryan's shoulders so he could get a better view of Travis.

He loves watching his dad lead worship.  I hope this is a legacy that gets passed onto Hudson.

You can't really see... I was off to the side towards, but there is Travis leading worship.

The three of us in the box at the game.

It is interesting to think about the things Hudson will grow up with versus the things we grew up with.  He is accustomed to ipods, iphones, computers, digital cameras...etc.

Listening to music on Trav's ipod...

haha... Hudson is a boy after my own heart... we love bread :)

Talking on the phone with dad.  He does what my family refers to as "the collins' boy phone pace" :)...

CBU Girls Weekend

Well, a few weeks ago it was time for our annual CBU girls reunion weekend.  We had so much fun together, although, we missed Sarah, Michelle, and Natalie.  Hopefully, next year we will be all together again.

I have said it before in years past, but there really is nothing like college friends.  We have seen each other through beginnings of adulthood, college classes, graduation, singleness, dating, break-ups, engagements, marriage and babies.  We have loved each other through difficult times and good times.

These are the kinds of friends who are quick to listen, slow to become angry, quick to forgive, and to ask for forgiveness.  It just is so refreshing to be around there authentic vulnerability.  I miss the days when we all lived together, so needless to stay, our annual weekend is something we all look forward to.

We started off the trip with a much needed pedicure:

Amy and I were born one day apart and the weekend actually started on her birthday.  So, the only thing to do was to make a funfetti cake.

The birthday girl:

Saturday morning breakfast across from the pier:

Logan was our male escort:

haha... just looking at this picture makes me laugh.  There is a really long story behind this picture.  Let's just say Scott is a friend of ours :)

While we were down at the beach we ran into another one of our college friends, Erica.  She has a little boy that was only born a week apart from Logan.

The ocean festival was going on in San Clemente, so there were a ton of fun activities going on down by the pier.  We definitely couldn't pass up the opportunity to eat some shaved ice :)

Chris and Travis watched Hudson and Logan, so we could go swim at the pool and then get ready for a night out.  On our way back from the pool we saw the boys... drinking slushies and pushing strollers...

Heading out for dinner:

With all the talk of babies and pregnancies that was going on... it only seemed natural to take a picture of Emily posing as a pregnant mom...haha... poor girl had to put up with all our baby talk :)

And then of course, the traditional surprise baby shower.  Shannon is expecting a boy this September!  So, we had to shower her with a few much needed boy items.
I am already excited for next year.  For some reason I think this next year is going to be a year of change.

Hudson's hair cut and my birthday

On my birthday, I ended up getting my hair done.  So, we decided to take care of Hudson's mullet.  The back of his hair is getting really thick and wavy, but the top on the sides still isn't very thick.  Thus, the result is a mullet.  I have already trimmed his hair probably 4 or 5 times, but I knew I couldn't get the back as good as my cousin could.

My cousin Merrily does my hair and she is amazing.  If anyone in the OC area is looking for a hairstylist, you should go to Merrily at Vogue Salon in Newport Beach.

After getting our hair done, we ended up hanging out at Fashion Island, eating ice cream and ended up eating dinner at one of my favorite places... Spaghetti Factory.

Balboa Family Vacation & the 4th of July

July has been the month of vacations for us.  We spent time on Balboa with my family, then a little getaway just the three of us, and now we are in Ohio with Travis' whole family.  Something about being in the Midwest in the summer brings back so many fond memories.

Anyway, here are a few photos from our Balboa vacation which overlapped on the 4th of July.
We loaded up all our bikes in the back of our truck, so we could take family bike rides all around the peninsula.... which included a couple of late night rides to get yogurt during happy hour.
We haven't ridden our bikes since before I was pregnant with Hudson, so it has been fun to get them back out again.  We really have enjoyed having the seat for Hudson on the back of Trav's bike.   We got these bikes when we were dating so they bring back fond memories.

At first, Hudson wasn't too sure about the helmet:

haha... Hudson fell asleep during our bike ride.  His head kept falling forward, so I improvised:

Late night yogurt run:

Playing in the sand hole Travis and Bryan dug for Hudson:

Taylor's delicious barbeque... It really is nice having built in amazing cooks in the family.  Both Summer and Taylor never disappoint us with the delicious food they make us.

Summer's homemade coconut shrimp... AMAZING!

Cuddling with Hud Bud while watching a few crazy guys surf the 20 foot waves at the Wedge... I would NEVER even put a toe in the water with waves like that.

Playing games on the 4th of July:

Hudson and Aunti Brittany:

4th of July... again late night yogurt run.  What can I say... my family likes ice cream :)

Hudson fell asleep in Uncle Taylor's arms while watching the fireworks:

And one more video of Hudson laughing...
