Growing up

Hudson is growing up and changing so much in this last month.  Not only does he now have teeth, but he is crawling everywhere and standing up on everything.  Here are a few recent pictures.

We had to lower the crib after finding him like this:

Pulling up and standing on his own:

Hanging out with the Hofschroer boys:

First time riding on Travis' shoulders... as you can see he loves it!

Hudson makes this funny sound that no one seems to be able to imitate.  We can't figure out how he does it or where it came from.  He makes the sound about half way through the video.

His first hair cut!!! Well, really it was just a trim on the front piece of hair.

If you look really close, you can see the hair we cut off.  Haha... I even saved that small piece of hair for his keep sake box.

Here are pictures of the new do:

Showing off his new skills:

Oh and other news... Brittany and Taylor now have a blog!!!  Brooke, Summer and I have been requesting this for a while.  Thank you, CBU for providing internet connections for such blogs =)

Say hello to my toothy smile!

Christmas in Ohio

We just got back last week from our trip to Ohio to visit Travis' parents and his sister.  It was so refreshing to get away from the hustle and bustle of life.  We literally just relaxed in their home, played games, watched movies, ate food and just enjoyed each other.  We also spent some time with our really good friends, Allan and Hillary, and their daughter Savannah.  Unfortunately, because we were in relax mode... I hardly took any pictures!  So, I don't even have one picture with them.  Here are a few of the pictures that I actually took.

I am sure the people in front of us were thinking it was their lucky day that this cute little guy was sitting behind them.  But actually, after our flight landed the people around us were complimenting us on how they never even heard him make a peep.

Opening gifts:

Falling asleep on Grandpa Collins:

The view out their front window.  It was 12 degrees when we landed and it got even colder.  I didn't mind it because we stayed inside where it was warm.  It snowed 6 inches during one of the days and it was absolutely beautiful to look at while drinking a cup of hot tea and snuggling under a warm blanket.

Hudson chillin' in Savannah's chair:

more time with Grandpa...

Travis and Brandon went outside to help shovel the snow for their dad... and this is what ended up happening:

My only complaint is that I wish Trav's family lived closer so we could see them more often.  They are such a blessing to us and we cherish the time we have with them.

Hudson's newborn pictures

When Hudson was about 2 weeks old our good friend, Michael Norwood came over to our house and took a few pictures of our new little addition.  I can't believe Hudson is already 8 months old!  It is so much fun to look at these pictures and see how much he has grown and changed.  Travis and I are so grateful for Hudson in our lives.

I love this picture because music is such a big part of our lives.  Travis, of course, is an amazing musician.  He took piano lessons and voice lessons growing up.  Then later in high school he taught himself how to play guitar.  I also took piano lessons all growing up and I still love to play.  Actually, a lot of people might not know this, but Travis and I were on the worship team together in college. Needless, to say, Hudson will be taking piano lessons (probably from his Uncle Brandon) as soon as he is old enough.  I hope he has a love for music even if it is just for a pass time.

Such a precious little baby...

New Year's and some time with friends...

On New Year's Eve we went to Brooke and Trever's house in downtown Orange.  We made potato cheese soup in bread bowls, played games, hung out with family and friends, and watched the ball drop as we rang in the new year.  Hudson is definitely an extrovert and we decided not to put him to bed early.  Since there were people around he stayed up all the way until midnight.

haha... this picture is just funny... caught Hudson right in the middle of a blink

The girls using the noise makers and the pop rocks outside (sorry I didn't get a picture of all the boys)

Then after New Year's Hudson and I got to spend some time with some of my favorite college girlfriends.  Natalie was in from New York and Shannon was in from Northern California.  We went out to breakfast with our babies and it was just good to spend time with them.  Hopefully, Natalie will be moving back in April!!!

the kiddos...

Then the night before we flew out to Ohio, I got to go to dinner with some friends in Laguna Beach to celebrate Emily's birthday.  Emily is one of my dearest friends and I wish I got to spend more time with her.  I am so thankful that she is in my life.  Happy Birthday Emily!

Tsunami State Youth Conference

This year Travis had the awesome opportunity to be the worship leader for Tsunami, the state youth conference.  It was held during Christmas break and there were a couple thousands students who came from all of the state. The conference was in San Jose which happens to be one of my favorite places in California.

Trever played guitar for Travis, so my sister Brooke got to come too.  They drove with us for the 7 hour drive so it was fun to get time to just talk. Hudson did really good on his first road trip in a car (last time we drove this far we were in a motor home).

Not only was the conference awesome, but it was also a mini CBU reunion.  A lot of our friends from college have gone into ministry serving in churches all over the country and even some in other parts of the world.  It was a lot of fun to catch up with those who were there.

On a side note, a lot of the students wanted Travis and the band to sign their CDs.  Brooke, Amanda (one of the other wives) and I found it quite amusing.   It was funny to watch the students line up just to get a picture and autograph.  Autographs are such a weird concept and they seem so silly to me.

Here are a few pictures from our trip:

Travis took Hudson on stage during sound check.  Hudson seems to love music and totally focuses on it the second we turn it on.  He often will sing along if Travis is singing in the house.  It is pretty cute.

Walking downtown with Uncle Brandon to get some lunch.  Hudson is showing off his scarf Grandma Collins made him.

All bundled up...

Sleeping during the last worship set with Aunt Brooke:

Hudson loved sucking on that apple... so funny!  He wouldn't let go of Brandon's apple for about 5 minutes.
