What do you do?
I would love to hear suggestions of how you store your photos and videos. Now that we live in this digital world we take so many more pictures and record videos. However, I don't know how to store them so that in 20 years we can still enjoy them. I have already taken over 2,000 pictures of Hudson and I don't want to loose them. How do you store your photos and videos? Also, I heard there is some way you can save or print your blog postings. Does anyone know anything about this?

Be SURE to back up your pictures! Last year our computer crashed and we lost about a year's worth of pictures... all of Keeghan's first birthday pictures, some of Kennedy going through chemo... ugh. It was BAD BAD BAD. We burn them all to DVD and I have a copy and my mom has a copy in her fire proof safe... in case our house burns down.
If you do a google search you can find sites that will turn your blog into a book. There are several places that do this. There are also some great digital scrapbooking sites that are lots of fun! It's a lot like regular scrapbooking but you do it all online... no cutting or gluing, no mess! :) Then you can print your creation out either at a place like walgreens or even on your own printer and make your own little scrapbook. Makes great gifts for grandparents too! Hope that helps! :)
I don't know, but I'm looking forward to suggestions b/c I need to know this too!

I am currently making our blog into a book. It is called booksmart. It's the software through a company. It basically slurps your blog and you choose the book and all the details and then lay it out. It is a bit tedious, but I am enjoying the process. In terms of photos. We store everything in Lightroom and back everything up on an external hard drive. Also we went to Costco and bought some great photo books that all matched and about every 6 months we go through all the photos and print the ones we love and put them in the books. It's nice to go through the hard copies every now and then.
Good Luck!
The cutest blog on the block has a link to put it into a book. Look at my blog and click on the link in the top left corner. I hope that helps.
My husband uses a mybook...you can buy it at Costco. It runs about 100 dollars or more depending on how much space you want
Check Costco.com to see what they have
interesting that you posted this... we lost ALL of our photos last Sunday! It sucks!!!
HAYLEY!!! This is AMAZING!!!! You are still beautiful as ever, even after having a baby! Glad to see all is going so well for you, Travis and beautiful little Hudson! I just got married (finally) about a year and a half ago to a wonderful man, Javier. We are involved in foster care and currently have 6 kids in our home! The story of your friends looking to adopt is so exciting! There are so many kids out there who need loving homes! May God continue to richly bless you and yours! Love, Joni (Fukuda) Prado
We too have lost photos before so we currently back up all of our photos to an external hard drive, make a copy on DVD and I usually upload all of the ones that I like the most to a site called shutterfly.com, when our hard drive crashed last year this was a huge relief for me because it allowed me to order a back up copy of almost everything I lost. My only advice is to do something, anything before it is to late! It is really hard to lose photos especially when they are of your precious little one!
